The Association was formed in 1991 by the Four clubs using both greens and pressed ahead with plans to extend the pavilion. With the help of a Lottery Sports Fund award and support from Portsmouth City Council the extension and other improvements were completed in 1997.

Today the Association provides the day to day administration of the greens and pavilion by a committee elected by the four clubs currently bowling on the Milton Park greens.  The clubs currently bowling are Milton Park and Priory – these are men's clubs. There is a Ladies Club - Milton Park Ladies. All clubs bowl in the local leagues – the ladies normally in the afternoons and the men usually in the evenings. Sadly one of the Associations founder members Eastney closed in 2021 but the good news is many of their former players have joined Milton Men.

In addition to the usual league games played by the clubs there are also charity events organised and an annual Open Day when we offer the public a chance to try the game.  The greens are used by District Associations and the County to play many of their annual competitions

Stewards are on duty to assist anyone interested in ‘have a go’. No special equipment is needed just turn up in flat shoes. We have a stock of bowls of various sizes so that you you can try your hand. Tea coffee and soft drinks are available throughout the day. The greens are open from 10:00 until dusk. You can also telephone us  (02392 822141) if you wish to arrange a personal session with one of our players.

You can join the Association and pay as you go or purchase a season ticket so that you can play whenever the greens are open. If you wish to join a Club then you will be made most welcome and be eligible to play in the league, subject to being selected.
